Meet Pelin, a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, in good standing with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Pelin has her Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Psychology from York University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has since worked with people from diverse backgrounds struggling with a range of mental health concerns both in hospital and community settings as well as in independent practice.

Pelin’s expertise lies in working with individuals who have experienced emotional dysregulation, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and identity issues. She has also worked with individuals struggling with life transitions and provided support to their families. Pelin believes in creating a validating environment that nurtures self-acceptance and meaningful change.

Throughout her career, Pelin has developed a range of skills and techniques, including certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), extensive training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is currently receiving consultation for Developmental Trauma and Resilience. Pelin uses an integrated approach for person-centred care.

In addition to her work with clients, Pelin works at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as a mental health clinician as well as teaches at the university level. She is an advocate for access to mental healthcare.

When Pelin is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She also enjoys practicing mindfulness and physical exercise and integrates it in her practice with clients.

Pelin’s dedication to her work and her clients has made a positive impact on many lives. She looks forward to continuing to support individuals and families in their journey towards resilience and empowerment.
